One of the most unique characteristics of Oakland is the extent to which we support mission efforts. We believe that everyone in our congregation has a duty to support these endeavors.

Those who cannot travel should consider supporting missions financially.

The fourth Sunday of each month is dedicated to the missions we support. Updates and photos are shared when available, and all offerings collected are dispersed to these efforts.

OPportunities to serve

The Donnoes and the Harnesses have headed up the Operation Christmas Child efforts, but everyone at Oakland loves the packing events!
At Oakland, we participate in fundraising activities and global efforts as often as we can, right from our Russiaville campus! 

Do you feel like you want to support an organization that is spreading the Gospel and God's love? We've got a place for you to get involved, be it a local organization or a worldwide initiative!

​Your level of participation is up to you! Whether you're more comfortable donating goods, pledging your time, or leading a group, we have a spot for you to get involved! 
Weekly Involvement
  • Pray! Never underestimate the power of praying for our missionaries and local Bible centered organizations.

Monthly Involvement
  • Mission Sunday tithing. 
  • World Missionary Press. The second Wednesday of every month, Oakland volunteers head to the press to print booklets of scripture for people in hundreds of different languages. Transportation and lunch are provided, and Wednesday is Donut Day at the press!​
Occasional Involvement
  • Food and Goods are collected often for Kokomo Rescue Mission. Check our Facebook page or the bulletin announcements for reminders and needed items.
  • Gather pledges for fundraisers, such as the Rock for Life event, benefitting the Pregnancy Resource Center. Then show up and show your support!
  • Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes. Oakland reached an all-time high volume of shoeboxes in 2021, blessing kids in the Ukraine. The boxes were packed over three separate sessions, including volunteers of all ages!

And don't forget serving right here at Oakland! Our worldwide efforts can be supported indirectly by serving during service or with our kids! Speak with one of our leaders for more information! ​
